Around 200 interested listeners from business, science, and politics accepted the invitation of the Klima- und Energiefonds and were given insights into the large-scale innovation program of \u201cFlagship region Energy\u201c. Following the opening by section head Christian Weissenburger (BMVIT) and Theresia Vogel, managing director of the Klima- und Energiefonds, Patrick A. Child, representative and elected chair (Anmerkung des \u00dcbersetzers: Titel laut https:\/\/euagenda.eu\/speakers\/patrick-child) of the European Commission emphasized in his keynote speech the importance of the global network \u201cMission Innovation\u201d for achieving climate goals and opening up worldwide secure access to energy everywhere. Austria joined this network of innovation leaders, which now comprises 23 countries, in May 2018, and is also bolstering the implementation of the Austrian climate and energy strategy #mission2030 with its contributions within the scope of \u201cMission Innovation\u201d.<\/p>\n
In the ensuing lively panel discussion, the representatives of the three flagship regions had their say: Christian Panzer, speaker of Green Energy Lab, emphasized Green Energy Lab\u2019s focus on the development of customer-oriented and scalable solutions for a sustainable energy future that will bring significant added value to customers within an integrated energy system. Susanne Supper, cluster manager of Green Energy Lab, drew attention to the promising opportunities to test innovation projects within the Green Energy Lab region on a large scale and bring them to marketability. After all, the region with the federal states of Burgenland, Lower Austria, Styria, and Vienna encompasses a test market of five million people.<\/p>\n
