In order to increase the share of renewable energy in the Saalfelden district heating network, work is currently underway on a comprehensive modernization of the Saalfelden heating plant. The modernization is planned in two stages. The essential components of expansion stage 1 to increase the efficiency of the existing biomass boiler are:<\/p>\n
\n
Adaptations to the existing biomass firing system, including increased performance of flue gas condensation and improved exhaust gas cleaning<\/li>\n
Construction of a storage tank (150 m\u00b3)<\/li>\n
Renewal of the control technology \/ control<\/li>\n
Renewal of the thermal hydraulics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
In expansion stage 2, the energy efficiency of the system is to be further increased through the implementation of an innovative heat pump concept. By using a heat pump, the heat recovery from the flue gas can be significantly increased again.<\/p>\n
In parallel to the two stages of modernization, work is being carried out on optimizing and expanding the district heating network.<\/p>\n
