We create the sustainable energy system

Our vision is a holistically integrated energy system based 100 percent on renewable energy. To this end develop and demonstrate we solutions for a sustainable energy future that is also can hold their own on the market.

Green Energy Lab is a research initiative for sustainable energy solutions. With the core regions of Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and Styria, the Green Energy Lab has a test market of five million end consumers:innen making it Austria’s largest innovation laboratory for a sustainable energy future. The Green Energy Lab is also Part of the Austrian innovation offensive “Vorzeigeregion Energie” of the Climate and Energy Fund. By 2025, over 150 million euros will be invested in innovative projects as part of the Green Energy Lab.

More than 350 Companies and institutionsn from research, business and the public sector in the Green Energy Lab Together with the four provincial energy suppliers Wien Energie, EVN, Burgenland Energie and Energie Steiermark, we are developing demand-oriented, scalable Energysolutions – from prototype to market maturity. We advise actors in the definition of their project idea, support them in the search for partners for consortium formation, accompany them during the project implementation and set  focus on the market transition at the end of the project, when the project players become market players (solution providers, solution users, etc.). Direct access to the core market of energy suppliers means that new developments can be tested immediately and on a large scale. The model solutions developed in our research projects serve as a blueprint for the energy transition and are based on technologies with a high degree of maturity and their integration into the energy system. This is our contribution to the development of a sustainable energy system of the future that is based 100 percent on renewable energy. For the climate. For Austria as a center of innovation.
