The aim is to achieve a serial, multifunctional and climate-neutral building refurbishment by conditioning the building from an outer shell. The outer shell consists of prefabricated shell elements, which enable quick and cost-efficient assembly. The integration of solar thermal energy and photovoltaics is planned, as is an interface to existing heating, cooling and storage systems. The focus is also on circularity in the sense of the circular economy.

Minimally invasive refurbishment can reduce the energy requirements of existing buildings by over 80%.

The high degree of prefabrication of the envelope elements and their flexible use with existing systems represents an innovative step. This makes the refurbishment of existing buildings more cost-effective and possible.

A large proportion of all residential buildings in Austria have the potential to be renovated with the RENVELOPE system. There is therefore a very high degree of transferability.
