Wärme für Telfs

Heating and Cooling Services as a Neighborhood-Wide Solution for Public and Commercial Buildings

Logo of Alliance for Green Heating and Cooling

The municipality of Telfs is considering the implementation of a district heating and cooling network as part of a neighborhood-based solution. The plan is to include public buildings such as schools, a recreation center, and a swimming pool, as well as commercial buildings, in two different configurations. To further flesh out the details, an exploratory study or feasibility study is needed. This study is intended to clarify the technical and economic foundations for further implementation. In addition, there are plans to develop a renovation roadmap for the public buildings in the market town of Telfs.

Objective of the Wärme für Telfs project

The goal of the project is to develop a concrete plan for a heating and cooling supply network as part of a neighborhood-wide solution in the municipality of Telfs. Heat pumps are to be used as the technology. To this end, a preliminary assessment, specifically, a technical and economic feasibility study, is to be conducted. In addition, the project plans to define a research focus for the implementation phase. Furthermore, a renovation roadmap for the public buildings in the market town of Telfs will be developed.

Approach and methodology of the Wärme für Telfs project

The project includes a preliminary study or feasibility study. The aim is to examine the technical and economic feasibility of a heating and cooling distribution network as part of a neighborhood-wide solution. Heat pumps are proposed as the technology to be used. The study will examine public buildings such as schools, a recreation center, and a swimming pool as well as commercial buildings, considering two different scenarios. In addition, plans are in place to define a research focus for the implementation phase. To complement this, a renovation roadmap will be developed for the public buildings in the market town of Telfs.

Expected results of the Wärme für Telfs project

The project is expected to result in a preliminary study or feasibility study to assess the technical and economic viability of a heating and cooling distribution network in Telfs. The study will examine a neighborhood-based solution using heat pumps that incorporates public and commercial buildings, with two different variants. In addition, a research focus for the implementation phase will be defined. Furthermore, the development of a renovation roadmap for the public buildings in the market town of Telfs is planned.

Benefits and impact of the Wärme für Telfs project

The project aims to develop a concrete plan for a heating and cooling distribution network as part of a neighborhood-wide solution in the municipality of Telfs. Through a technical and economic feasibility study, it lays the groundwork for further implementation. The study takes into account both public and commercial buildings. In addition, the renovation roadmap establishes a framework for the public buildings in the market town of Telfs.
